Everybody is aware of gambling nowadays. It can be found everywhere in both offline and virtual worlds, and it has become addictive even amongst children. One of the gambling games is “bingo,” a very popular game that is famous among all age groups.

Bingo is also known as “Tambola” in India, whose origin is believed to be in Italy. In India, this game is played with a similar set of rules by the students for fun, without placing any bets.

This is popular among children because it has the fun and simplest game rules out of all other gambling table games.

Let us have a brief analysis of how this game is play.

Basic Rules and regulations

Scorecard: The game is played with a flat paper or card, which is called a scorecard. The scorecard consists of 25 boxes, which are made out of 5 columns and 5 rows.

The scorecard should be filled with numbers 1 to 75 randomly by the players, leaving the center box empty, which is known as the “Free space.”

On the top row, the letters B I N G O are written, and under each letter, there will be a column.

Bingo chip: In a casino, circular chips are provided to cover or mark the called outnumber. This can be done with any small paper as the aim is just to cover the numbers.

Bingo balls: In a professional setting like a casino, we have bingo balls on which a combination of a letter and a number is written.

The caller draws a ball every round to call out a random number based on the combination written on the ball.

Example: If the ball says N 37, the players will have to check for the number 37 on the “N column.”

Method

Every player will be provided with a scorecard which needs to be filled by the players with random numbers before the game starts. The players will start the game by covering the center box of the card. There will be a dealer who calls out one number every round by drawing a bingo ball.

The players will have to cover the number that has been called by the dealer if it is present on their board. If the number is not there, the player will wait for the next round.

The major goal is to cover 5 boxes in a row, which can either be formed in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal way to win the game. After connecting, the player has to shout “Bingo” to end the game.

Tip: The player can use multiple scorecards to win the game, which can be tricky.
